An online collection of photos of Preston through the years has reached its target of 8,000 uploads.Advertisement
The Preston Digital Archive is housed on photo-sharing site Flickr and founder Barney Smith wanted to reach the 8,000 barrier before the Guild.
In the latest issue of the Preston Magazine, Mr Smith states the Archive is now looking for even more.
“We know you must have musty old albums, biscuit tins and the odd sock drawer full of interesting items of Preston and the surrounding areas past.
“What we are looking for are photos of commercial or industrial activity, lost streets and buildings, social activity and more.”
The Archive also accepts Real Photo picture post cards, plus old threatre programmes, invitations, magazine articles, adverts and newspaper cuttings.
