Preston Christmas Lights Celeb Switch-on 17 November
The Christmas lights were officially lit by a line up of celebs last night. X-Factor winner Matt Cardle and opera singer Russell ‘the voice’ Watson took centre stage pushing the plunger to a count down by Real Radio.
Also on stage for one of Preston’s biggest annual events were Preston North End football team manager Graham Westley and a few of the PNE first team players, Santa and the Guild Mayor.
The event, which regularly attracts over 10,000 attendees, officially launched Preston’s Christmas trading period during a four-hour festive extravaganza featuring fifteen performances including stand-out performances from DJ Nona, Honey Ryder, Thomas Teago, Be Minor and the jumping kids from Street Monkeys.
The night also featured the first public viewing of the Preston Motion Picture Project’s Preston 2012 – the movie and the new Preston Christmas TV advert.
A fun night was had by everyone.
An early Merry Preston Christmas to all!
