BBC Radio Lancashire’s John ‘Gilly’ Gilmore was broadcasting live from St Georges Shopping Centre with the Guild Mayor Carl Crompton and Preston sports star Helen Clitheroe at the Children In Need Pop Up Cake Shop.
Pudsey Bear, the BBC Children in Need’s mascot, made an impromptu appearance stealing the limelight. Everyone wanted a picture with him. He is a lot bigger in real life.
The picture above shows them cutting the special Pudsey the Bear cake. Very tasty it was too.
Students from Preston College helped bake some fantastic cakes and they were in the Centre today trying to entice passers by to part with their cash for a very good cause. I was there and bought quite a few cakes myself. Over the afternoon the students made several hundreds pounds. A big well done to them all.
