Last chance to see Me and My Panorama at the Museum of Lancashire

Posted on - 26th October, 2012 - 7:44pm | Author - | Posted in - Arts & Culture

Running until 28 October,  an exhibition of panoramas by young people from Preston entitled Me and My Panorama on display at the Museum of Lancashire.

Captured especially for Preston Guild 2012, Preston’s young creatives present panoramic photographs of how they see their city today and a unique photographic journey of their place in its history.

They have worked with one of the North West’s leading photographic artists and panorama obsessive, Jan Chlebik, to explore the history of panorama photography within the Preston Guild archive and the panorama collection at the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Alongside this research, they have developed their own photographic skills, looking at buildings, places and people they know well, but seeing them in a different way through their own panoramas.

Created and co-curated by Oliver Nuttall, Ewan Mulligan, Faith Lucas, George Reed, Josh Rennie, Josef Salpekar and lead artist, Jan Chlebik. Me and My Panorama is a creative heritage project for Preston Guild 2012 by Dovetail, delivered in partnership with Bluestreak Arts, and with support from The Watermark Studios, Wash Design, National Media Museum Bradford, The Harris Museum and Art Gallery.
