Three Preston artists plan to turn the city centre streets into an open air gallery as part of the Guild celebrations. A supersize mural has appeared on the university police house on Adelphi Street and the artists are promising more to come. The brightly coloured mural entitled ‘Happy Landings’ shows a bubble blowing character watching the sun set over the Preston cityscape. The artists, known as Teaone, Moot and Reasm have spent several days creating their masterpiece and locals joined them this morning for the unveiling. After talking to local business people and residents, it’s clear that they all agree that their new artwork is a welcome addition to the area.
Shop owner Jean Marsden, from The Secret Garden florists, summed up the local reaction saying:
“We love it, it’s great for the area, and it has certainly brightened up an otherwise drab building.”
Uclan Staff whose offices overlook the artwork also came out to congratulate the artists on a job well done!
