You may recall having seen an article on BlogPreston earlier this year relating to financial problems for the Old Black Bull’s parent company and the news that they’d had to call in the administrators.
Well, despite the difficult economic climate, the pub has remained open but the adjacent advertising did make me smile. I wonder how many more pubs are feeling like the wolves are at the door? When you travel around Preston you certainly notice the significant number of former pubs that have either shut or have been converted for another use.
The Old Black Bull is a listed building and it’s hard to imagine the pub scene in Preston without it. Perhaps we should all make a point of popping in next time we are in the City Centre to drink in the atmosphere of this historic pub. After all there has been a Black Bull on the site for nearly 200 years, possibly even longer according to some historians.
