Beacon Fell, Lancashire

Troublemakers who are blighting one of the most scenic parts of Lancashire have been targeted by police.

Police launched a special operation to crackdown on motorists driving aroun the Beacon Fell area and warned one man, in his 20s, for posessing cannabis.

Sergeant Richard Terry, of Fulwood neighbourhood policing team, said: “Rural Preston for the most part is calm, quiet and includes some of the most scenic parts of Lancashire.

“We do have some problems with anti-social behaviour in our villages and this is something we will continue to tackle and indeed did as part of the operation.

“There is plenty of positive stuff for young people to do out there and they need to realise being a nuisance is not productive for them or their communities.”

Rural patrols will be taking in Broughton, Barton, Goosnargh, Grimsargh and Woodplumpton in the coming weeks.
