Andrew Brooks re-imagines the cityscapes of today with a glimpse of tomorrow

The latest act for Preston’s contemporary arts festival, MAPS, has been announced as digital artist and film maker Andrew Brooks.

Hailing from Manchester, Brooks takes his inspirations from an analogue reality and contemporary urban surroundings.

He said: “The crucial element to my work is atmosphere. No matter how much digital application is going on, the atmosphere and feel of a picture is always the most important thing.”

Brooks will show an all new image of Preston created for the festival and starkly beautiful urban scenes, empty but for hollowed-out shells of buildings and imagined urban environments.

MAPS is a series of contemporary artists taking over venues in the city for Saturday 8th September as part of the Guild celebrations.

More information is available on the MAPS website. You can find out more about Andrew Brooks and his work on his website.
