Blog Preston spoke to Lancashire-born international fashion designer Wayne Hemingway today, and he revealed what the city can expect from the Vintage Guild Weekend in September.
Talking about what it meant to be co-curating such a prestigious event in Preston’s Guild year, Wayne said it was not only “an honour” to be able to contribute to the “iconic, once in a generation event”, but also an important opportunity to “create a cultural legacy” for the city. Describing his aims for the event, Wayne said he is striving for it to be “more than a couple of amazing days out”, and he hopes that it will “inspire people and trigger them to do something creative themselves”. Finally, Wayne said “he would like to think that” his event and the Guild as a whole contributes to Preston’s “brand” as a city, to draw people in and stimulate wider interest.
