Two Preston brothers who assaulted a man with a baseball bat have been jailed for 12 weeks.
AdvertisementJordan Fish, 18, and Reece Fish, 21, pleaded guilty to assault after attacking the man on Formby Place, Ashton in May.
Police were tipped off about the Fish brothers and they were both arrested at home.
Reece Fish was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and Jordan Fish will serve the same sentence in a youth offender’s institution.
Inspector Dave Brown said: “The Fish brothers used violence in a personal altercation resulting in a man being beaten and attacked. This sends a message that both the police and courts take the crime of assault very seriously.
“Any person, or persons, who would carry out such a brazen act are clearly a threat to the community and I am satisfied both are now behind bars.”
