A new online directory launched this week will allow businesses to advertise their services, offers and events for free.
Adpreston is the first free Preston-only business directory, but it also serves as a community notice board and events page for people looking to keep up to date with goings on in the city. Business owners can sign up for a premium listing throughout the month of June for no charge, and if they prefer, Adpreston will even create the listing for them.
Daniel Fisher, founder and managing director of Adpreston, said he hoped this would remove all the barriers for Preston businesses looking to gain some exposure online.
He said: “I launched Adpreston because I didn’t think there was much help for small and medium businesses here in Preston. I wanted to create something that would promote these businesses and help Preston become a flourishing city with great local shops and boutiques.”
Talking about his aims for the site, Daniel was clear: “My overall aim for Adpreston is for it to become a hub that everyone in and around Preston uses to search for businesses, deals and events in the city. I want it to be a great community website, and I feel that if the businesses get behind it then it will be.”
“Other people have tried similar things but they don’t work and I think that’s because they didn’t get involved with what’s happening. I want Adpreston to get involved with local events, raise money for local charities and actually assist the businesses instead of disappearing once someone has paid to get onto the site and only reappearing 12 months later when the subscription is due.”
In the coming months, Blog Preston will be working in partnership with Adpreston to promote, and provide coverage for, local events within the city.
Visit the website for more information, or send your business details to info@adpreston.co.uk to advertise in the directory.
