One of Preston’s most-famous sons has hinted he wishes to return to the city.

Cricketing legend Andrew Flintoff in a Q&A with The Guardian said Preston is where he’d like to live.

He currently lives with his family in the South of England, but the interview shows Flintoff has fond memories of his early cricketing career in Preston.

His most treasured possession is her Lancashire under-11 cap, and revealed his Dad is to blame for his cricketing obsession.

He said: “My dad played cricket locally on a Saturday afternoon and my mum used to take us to watch him. I started off in the pram and then played for the side – that’s how it all started.”

Flintoff also used to work on the record counter at Woolworths, when it still existed on Fishergate.

You can read the full Q&A on the The Guardian website.
