A nine year old boy is being treated in hospital after being struck by a car in Ribbleton.
The boy was walking home yesterday afternoon along Whitmore Drive when a car collided with him.
He was knocked down and suffered burns to his legs, lacerations to his head and cuts to his back will require stitches.
The boy will remain in Royal Preston Hospital for around four days. Police described his condition today as “comfortable”.
The female drive of the car, a blue Peaugeot 206, has been spoken to by police but not arrested.
PC Glenn Bailey said: “An investigation is underway and I would appeal to anybody that witnessed the collision or with any information that could assist with our investigation to contact police.”
