Cannabis plants found by police at the address in Fulwood

A raid on a home in Fulwood has discovered more than £30,000 worth of cannabis plants.

Officers found the plants at a house on Religh Road on Tuesday afternoon and uncovered 40 mature cannabis plants.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man from Fulwood on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and a 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

The raid was part of Operation Broadley, an ongoing crackdown on drug dealers and growers in the city and across the county.

Detective Inspector Gareth Willis, of Preston CID, said: “This is another important step in Operation Broadley – these seizures will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the local community.

“We will continue to target those suspected of being involved in the cultivation of cannabis and I urge anyone with information or concerns to contact police.”

Anyone with information about cannabis can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
