A Preston man who preyed on a vulnerable 15 year old girl has been jailed for nearly 2 years.
AdvertisementJoseph Littler, of Arundel Place, Frenchwood, pleaded guilty in August last year to having sexual activity with the girl.
The offences took place between 2005 and 2006 and Littler, 64, was sent down for 1 year and 272 days at Preston Crown Court.
He has also been disqualified from working with children for life, put on the sex offenders register for life and will also be subject to a lifetime licence on his release.
Detective Constable Rachael Ashcroft from Preston’s public protection unit, said: “Littler preyed on a vulnerable young girl after he gained the trust of her family and it is only right that he is put behind bars for what he has done.
“I am pleased that he has been given an indeterminate sentence which means that he will only be released when he can prove that he is no longer a danger to the public.
“I hope that his victim and her family will be able to take comfort from today’s result and be able to move on from this horrific ordeal and try to get on with their lives.”
