St Wilfrids procession passing the intersection of Church St. and Lancaster Rd in 1922 Guild
The deadline to enter yourself, your school, business or club into the Guild processions has been extended.
Processions are at the heart of the Guild celebrations and organisers want to ensure as many people as possible get the chance to take part.
The main procession has had its deadline extended to Monday 2nd April.
Organisers say over 250 businesses, schools, community and church groups have already registered.
Interest in the torchlight procession which closes the entire Guild festival has been “overwhelming” according to festival director Stella Hall.
The deadline for this procession is now Wednesday 2nd May.
Ms Hall said: “There is no doubt that aspirations have been raised and community and business groups empowered to deliver a spectacular event in 2012 that will witness the most creative Processions that the Guild have delivered in their long and proud history. This is your chance to register and be part of the People’s Guild.”
