Two FallenWall Arts, the organisation behind MAPS Festival, actors in their production of Romeo is Dead
A contemporary arts festival taking place during the Preston Guild has opened for applications.
The MAPS Festival is looking for emerging and established artists to submit their work.
The festival takes place on Saturday 8th September at a variety of locations across the city including the Oxheys Mill Studios.
Jack Coverdale, from FallenWall Arts who are behind the event, told Blog Preston last month the festival will help showcase lesser known artists from the city.
He said; “MAPS seeks to address that issue and hopefully introduce the people of Preston to new types of work, contesting the idea that theatre is limited simply to plays and showing the countless other, equally engaging, entertaining and challenging work which constitutes art and performance.”
The festival is also now linked with the Preston Tringe, which is entering its fourth year this summer.
Applications for the festival need to be in by 9am on Monday 9th July. Artists wanting to be included in the Tringe programme need to hit an earlier deadline of 9am on April 30th.
Details on how to apply are available on the MAPS Festival website and you can follow the festival on Twitter.
