The streets of Preston are set to come alive with parties this year for the Guild, Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.
AdvertisementInformation has been released by the council about how you can apply to shut off your road and let the good times roll.
There is no charge to hold a street party but you must apply to the council for permission, so the road can be closed.
Leader of the council Peter Rankin said: “This is the People’s Guild and a fantastic opportunity for all Preston residents and communities to come together and join in the fun and party atmosphere that will surround Preston this year. Whether you want to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics, Preston Guild or all three, it is easy to apply.
“It would be great if neighbours and friends were to get together to organise a street party; you won’t even have to travel – its right outside your front door.”
You can apply to host a Diamond Jubilee party between Saturday 2nd June and Monday 5th June.
An Olympics or Guild party can take place from Friday 27th July to Sunday 9th September.
The deadline for Diamond Jubilee applications is 5pm on Monday 30th April and for the Olympics and Guild it is 5pm on Monday 11th June.
An information pack is available to download from the council website.
Applications for all street parties can be made through the Preston Guild website.
