One thing is for certain, 2012 is going to be an exciting year to be in Preston. You only have to look at the Blog Preston website to see just how much is planned for the City over the next 12 months in was is a Guild year.
And the good news of course is that this means there will be plenty of opportunities for capturing photographs of people, places and pageantry. Who knows, when the next Preston Guild comes around in 2032 it could be your photographs that people are looking back on nostalgically.
This leads me onto this week’s photograph – in addition to sorting out a couple of portrait sessions this week, I have been conscious of my weekly challenge, to come up with a new photograph of Preston.
It’s another night shot this week but I think it is quite appropriate given that the shot is of the Preston Guild logo. The shot was taken on Riversway.
The long exposure needed meant that the headlights and taillights of passing cars were recorded as light trails. A burst of flash was also used to fill in the shadows on the logo itself. I should give my apologies to any motorist who thought they’d just been caught by a speed camera as the flash went off!
