An advertising campaign will hit TV screens across the North West this week to promote Preston as a Christmas shopping destination.

The 21-second commercial bills the city as “Santa’s best kept secret” and pushes what Preston has to offer to families.

Mark Whittle, marketing and events manager for BID Preston who funded the advert, said: “Our Christmas advertising campaign on Granada TV runs from November 28th until December 12, again we’ve invested in this medium as it hits the masses.

“Hundreds of thousands of people live within thirty minutes of Preston yet have never considered us as their destination, we’re hoping to change that.”

A Christmas Market and late night shopping across the city centre are also planned to make consumers part with their Christmas cash.
