Preston’s Business Improvement District (BID) have added X Factor finalist Jonjo Kerr to this month’s Christmas Lights Switch On.

He joins soul singer Beverley Knight, Corrie stars Ryan Thomas (Jason) and Helen Flanagan (Rosie) and Sam Clark (Ringo from Neighbours) at the Flag Market on Saturday 19 November.

Jonjo said: “I can’t wait to sing in Preston, it’s a place I know well coming from Chorley.

“I’m excited to perform for what I know will be a huge and exciting crowd.

“It’s been a real journey for me since auditioning for the X Factor, from serving solider to appearing in millions of living rooms across the country has been a whirlwind.”

Jonjo, who was given given special permission by the Army to star in the show, was eliminated from the over 25s category after the first round of live performances. You can view his performance of ‘You Really Got Me’ here and his first audition here.

“I’m delighted that I can use my experience as a soldier and my new found profile from the X Factor to highlight the work of Falklands Veterans Foundation, who I’m supporting in the build up to their 30th anniversary in 2012” he said.
