Thousands of people turned out last night for Preston’s Christmas Lights Switch On at the Flag Market.

Celebrities in attendance were Beverley Knight, X Factor’s Jonjo Kerr and Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan and Ryan Thomas. The huge crowd (the LEP say 11,000) lined the streets from the Flag Market and across to Fishergate and Friargate.

The crowd were entertained by a variety of musical acts from 3:30 onwards before the seeing Beverley Knight flick the switch just before 7 o’clock.
