Avenham man charged with Ribbleton shooting

An Avenham man has been charged in connection with the shooting of a man in Ribbleton last month.

Daniel Nicholls of Guildford Road, Avenham, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The incident on Ribbleton Lane on Tuesday 25th October saw a 29-year-old man shot and have injuries to his foot.

An earlier incident on Maitland Street is being investigated by officers where four men were challenged by police before a handgun and ammunition was found. Detectives believe the two incidents are linked.

25-year-old Mr Nicholls will appear at Preston Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
