Zap! the smartphones app for students, is organising a street cleanup on Fishergate called Love Where You Live this morning at 10:30.
As part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Love Where You Live campaign, they’re helping to take responsibility for the litter caused by flyering in student cities. Zap! are encouraging people to volunteer an hour of their time to help the cause.
Ashley Dawes, Creative Director at Zapmenow said: “We’re proud of UCLan SU for taking this first step with us and want to see Preston looking its best.
“I used to own a bar in Preston and I know how hard it is to advertise and keep the streets clean of flyers. The Love Where You Live campaign is all about finding positive ways to improve the environment we live, work and play in.
“It’s too important to wait for someone else to do it. That’s why we’re getting together to give the area the kind of TLC it deserves.”
The Zap! Love Where You Live event takes place today at 10:30am at the Church Street end of Fishergate.
