Project Korova are celebrating their first birthday by launching a new monthly comedy night at the Adelphi this weekend.
Comedy Mike will launch on Sunday 30 October with Preston born Phil Ellis headlining. Support comes from musical comedian Matt Tiller, Jonny Addy, Danny Sutcliffe and the night’s resident MC Phil Buckley.
Founder of Project Korova Sam Buist said: “Our regular monthly night Organised Mike has attracted a greater variety of acts performing over the evening, and has gradually seen its following increase.
“We are now building on this by starting a monthly comedy night at the Adelphi. We’ve also seen interest in our Hatch project and we’re looking to develop this project by working with other organisations over the next year.
“Phil Ellis who will be headlining the first event is one of the top comedians on the north west scene.
“It’s also a chance to support a growing and budding north west scene.”
Future Comedy Mikes will see comedians James Meehan and Dan Nightingale perform.
Comedy Mike launches this Sunday at the Adelphi; and will run on the last Sunday of the month after that. Tickets are £6 (£5 with a yellow card and in advance), available on the door, at the Adelphi bar or from the Project Korova Facebook page.
