Today sees the last day of the Continental’s 7th Beer Festival, which begins at midday. Over 5,000 people attended their last Beer Festival in May, cementing its status as a veritable Mecca for real ale drinkers all over the North West and beyond.
Since the Continental was reopened and refurbished in 2008, its beer festivals have already become something of a Preston institution, with the pub winning Camra West Lancashire Pub of the Year for 2010 and 2011, and is included in Camra’s Good Beer Guide for 2010 and 2012. Last year the pub also arranged the Preston Cask Ale Trail which involved seven other pubs.
Things to look out for on Saturday are the ever popular hog roast, and DJs (Spanner, The Black Acid) performing from 4 pm.
