Snowflakes on Preston Town Hall

Little known fact – you can view the accounts of Preston City Council before they are officially published in September.

For nearly a month starting on Monday 25th July anyone on the electoral roll in Preston can go into the Town Hall and see a copy of the council’s accounts for the year end until 31st March 2011.

The council’s website states the accounts are available to view Monday to Friday between 10am – 12noon and 2pm to 4pm. This is until Friday 19th August.

Once the council starts the audit process from Monday 22nd August any elector is able to ask questions of the auditors who is Clive Portman, District Auditor of the Audit Commission of 2nd Floor, Aspinall House, Aspinall Close, Middlebrook, Horwich, Bolton, BL6 6QQ.

You can view the full council statement here and thanks to the Telegraph’s blog for pointing this out.
