Preston North End begin looking ahead to next season today when they face Ipswich.
AdvertisementAfter the loss on Monday PNE have been relegated and now they must look towards assembling a team capable of bouncing straight back into the Championship.
North End have nothing but pride to play for and may take advantage of the opportunity to play a few youngsters.
Daniel Devine, Jamie Proctor and Bailey Wright have all been involved with the first team in recent weeks and with Leon Cort and Iain Hume joining an already extensive injury list they may be given a chance.
Luckily for PNE fans they should see Hume in action again as the club’s top scorer has committed to playing for the club next season.
Bongani Khumalo has returned to Tottenham increasing PNE’s absentees but Ipswich also have a lot of injuries.
Jimmy Bullard, Darren O’Dea, Gareth McAuley and Football League Young Player of the Year Connor Wickham are all missing for the Tractor Boys.
PNE will hope to finish the season strongly against an out of form side. Ipswich have lost their last two games 4-1 and 5-1 so North End have a good chance of picking up a morale boosting win.
The Lilywhites have won four of their last six against Ipswich including the 1-0 victory at Deepdale earlier this season.
Join us for live coverage from 2:30pm as PNE hope to show they’re down but not out.
