Race for Pancake Day at the Flag Market

Posted on - 8th March, 2011 - 2:34pm | Author - | Posted in - Videos, What's On in Preston

This morning saw the Flag Market taken over by several chefs and local catering firms to compete in a pancake tasting competition judged by Paul Heathcote.

Despite the chilly morning, people on their way to work were also greeted by the sight of a ‘pancake race’, where chefs ran the length of the flag market while flipping pancakes on frying pans.

Afterwards Paul Heathcote (owner of the Longridge Restaurant and the Olive Press) judged a competition as the chefs made pancakes with their own unique twists.

The event marked the countdown to the historical Easter egg rolling event at Avenham Park, which has been running for over a hundred years.

Below is video footage that I shot from the event.
