Chic shoppers are over the moon at the arrival of a new antique clothes store on Friargate.
After a petition failed to save the old Oxfam vintage shop on the same road last year, people complained they had nowhere good to get their outfits.
Now, Wonderland boutique is aiming to fill the gap in the market.
Store owner, Joanne Wilson said: “We’re not worried that previous stores have folded. We’re planning to rotate our stock every two weeks. I think this is vital to encourage good business.”
The shop which sells clothes and accessories for men and women welcomed hordes of customers today, its opening day.
Joanne co-owns the store with lifelong best friend, Missy Jordan, also 21.
Missy said: “People have been telling us how happy they are for the new shop to open. If you’re walking past then be sure to come in and have a rummage.”
