X Factor stars Treyc Cohen and Belle Amie took to the stage for the Preston Christmas light switch on yesterday.
Real Radio and BID Preston, in conjunction with Preston City Council, worked tirelessly to wow the crowd. Preston locals filled the streets from Fishergate to Friargate to enjoy a mix of local and national talent performing at the Flag Market.
Treyc Cohen and Belle Amie shared the stage with local pop groups P5 and Inju5tice in the run up to the switch on.
Father Christmas made an appearance wishing all the spectators an extra special Christmas alongside the stars of this year’s pantomime – Snow White.
Louis Walsh’s new act Wonderland also hit the stage, Susan Paul said: “Wonderland were amazing- by far the best act for me”.
The excitement did not end with the lights as the crowd also enjoyed a laser show and animated projections that will continue to illuminate public buildings throughout Preston in the run up to Christmas.
Peter Trundle, 32, Preston, said: “We come every year as a family and this year has definitely not failed to impress us. The kids have loved it and the lights on the buildings look brilliant”.
Aiden Grimshaw was originally booked to turn on the lights but was removed from the listing at the 11th hour. Industry Music Group, who now manages the X-Factor evictee, said this was due to an administrative error on their behalf.
