Comedian Phil Buckley has toured all over the world and Preston is no exception.  The critically acclaimed Bury born lad has an individual style of stand up comedy.  He tells nothing but the truth and examines the trouble you can get into for doing so. Buckley will take you on a hilarious journey of life as a stand up comedian.

Two award winning acts to take note of whilst at the festival are two half hour plays, entitled; ‘Great Escape’ and ‘Auntie Jean’ both of which were prize winners in the Blackpool Grand Awards 2009. ‘Great Escape’ (David Riley) tells the tale of an elderly man (Stan), who escapes the confinement of living in care and tries to reach earlier roots. Whereas, ‘Aunty Jean’ (Zoe Lamond) is told in monologue form by the infamous Aunty Jean and her niece, Linda.

A variety of acts have already been confirmed for this year and a long line is now forming to get in. The final deadline for all acts to apply is on May 10th. So if you’re part of an established troupe or a one man band and fancy taking your act to the stage check out the Tringe website or email screaming_theatre2004@yahoo.co.uk.
