Community policing, street cleaning and green space are just some of the issues up for discussion at the latest round of area forums, which kick off with the Western Area Forum on Thursday 4th March.
The forums are held at community venues across the city, and all begin at 7pm. Dates and locations of upcoming meetings are as follows:

Thursday 11th March 2010, Northern Area Forum, St Pius X Preparatory School, Garstang Road
Thursday 18th March 2010, Eastern Area Forum, Preston YMCA, Samuel Street, Fishwick
Thursday 25th March 2010, Central Area Forum, the Aspire Centre (formerly known as the Connolly Centre), Steeple View, off Fylde Road.
Thursday 15th April 2010, Rural Area Forum, Goosnargh and Whittingham Sports and Social Club, Guild Park, Whittingham
Topics up for discussion include:
Neighbourhood services – neighbourhood services staff will attend each forum to provide updates on issues such as street cleaning, refuse collection, and parks and grounds maintenance services in each area.
Community policing – police officers from Lancashire Constabulary will provide updates on local policing issues.
Residents will also be able to raise any other issues they feel are important to them and their community at the open forum, a 30 minute question and answer session at the end of each meeting.
