Preston’s live literature night, Word Soup, returns to the New Continental on Tuesday 20th October 2009 with one of Britain’s most respected horror writers.
Ramsey Campbell is an award-winning horror author and will be all set to frighten the audience at Word Soup.
Over the years Ramsey has won The British Fantasy Award (ten times), The World Fantasy Award (four times) and the much coveted Bram Stoker Award (three times) for best horror novel, had two of his novels made into films and has written film reviews for the all the major newspapers and the BBC.
Ruth Heritage, head of They Eat Culture, who programme events at the New Continental, said:
The organisers of Lancashire’s fastest growing Live Literature Night, Preston Writing Network – the literature arm of arts organisation They Eat Culture – are very proud to be having the famous scare-monger as their guest. Ramsey Campbell is a legend. It’s a great honour to have him come and read at Word Soup.
The theme for the night will be all around horror and Word Soup will also see the popular open mic section, as new writers try out their material on a friendly crowd.
