The latest edition of a Preston community news magazine, Broadgate & District News, has hit the doormats across the Broadgate area.
It includes minutes of the Broadgate Residents Action Group meeting held on 22nd September 2009, which covers the recent vandalism of cars on Broadgate and other anti-social behaviour that has been happening in the area.
The police have also published crime figures for the area, with crimes from 5th August to 2nd September 2009 including one robbery, one theft from a person, one burglary, two vehicle thefts, four assaults and 11 counts of criminal damage.
However, the police also report that the ‘Hartington Hoodies’ are being dealt with:
We are delighted to report that four of our most problematic youths have been charged with a house burglary and car theft. 19-year-old Andrew Harrison and a 17-year-old have been remanded in custody until the court case on 1st October. Another 17-year-old has conditions not to enter Broadgate and a 14-year-old is on a 7 PM curfew.
The magazine also includes adverts for local businesses, two opinion pieces from Terry and Carole E Grant.
It’s great to see these types of small community magazines and newsletters that keep people informed about very local events and news.
