Artist impression of electronic banners on Preston Flag MarketPreston’s Flag Market has been the subject of a development proposal from Preston City Council and a big part of that proposal is the installation of electronic banners.

The Council will be running a test of these banners on Friday 11th September 2009 from 3 PM to 9 PM on the Flag Market. It will give the people of Preston a chance to see the screens in action and see if they like them or not.

A spokesperson from Preston City Council says:

The LED banners can show images and animations. It is intended that the LED banners would be a window on the creative energy of Preston, with all the images and animations being created as a result of community involvement. During the demonstration, the banners will show images and animations created by young people from Brookfield, Preston. The banners are being considered as part of the Preston Flag Market re-design project.

If you’re going down on Friday please leave a comment below about what you thought and also if you take any photos, send them to prestonblogs@googlemail.com or upload them to the Preston group on Flickr.
