Couple of August Bank Holiday ideas

Posted on - 30th August, 2009 - 11:29am | Author - | Posted in - Preston News

Beacon Fell, LancashireStuck for something to do this Bank Holiday weekend? Here’s a couple of ideas to occupy your time.

Graham Salisbury recommends a trip to Beacon Fell to pick blackberries. Although you might struggle to find any if Graham’s been and gone with them all! Beacon Fell is also great for a general day out, take a walk to the top and enjoy stunning views of the Lancashire countryside or for the more adventurous get on your bike and follow some of the excellent cycle routes.

For something closer to Preston get down to the docks and enjoy the Ribble Steam Railway, which is being joined by a whole host of different buses, lorries and other commercial vehicles. You can pick up a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) for £15.00.

If you’ve got any other suggestions for the Bank Holiday Weekend pop them in the comments below.
