Tonight will see Preston Tringe Festival launch with two shows at the Adelphi pub.
AdvertisementPreston’s fringe festival sees music, theatre, comedy, magic and much more happening across different venues in the city up until 31st July 2009.
The opening night will see a performance of Christopher Morgan’s ‘Waiting in Soho’ (8 PM) and Leonard Morley’s ‘The Harpy and the Slob’ (9.30 PM).
‘Waiting in Soho’ is put on by Preston’s Screaming Theatre group and is the story of Tracy who is in London and trying to get close to her late husband, while Bernadette hopes fame will be found at any moment when Cameron Mackintosh walks in. Seven individuals tell their story on a rainy night in a Soho pub. From the award-winning writer of ‘Going Underground’.
‘The Harpy and the Slob’ is put on by Captain Fandango Theatre and is set in 1984 at a house party. Maggie and Richard unite over singledom and cider. But there’s more to their relationship than first thought when he discovers that she is holding up his insurance claim. Award-winning laugh out loud comedy.
Both shows continue tomorrow (Friday 24th July 2009) at the Adelphi.
