Preston got a taste of things to come during Saturday afternoon.

Dozens of dancers took over the Flag Market for the first of the Summer Saturday events.

Sponsored by Blog Preston the months of entertainment was started off by the Preston Caribbean Carnival King and Queen competition.

Crowning both the King and Queen ahead of Sunday (10 June)’s carnival, the rain just about held off.

Four hours of music, dancing and colourful performances were keeping the toes tapping in the city centre.

Isle of Harmony, Aspire and Spectrum all performed.

Sunday’s carnival is taking place on Moor Park and will include a procession along Garstang Road, North Road and then through Deepdale.
