The city’s annual celebration of all things arme forces has confirmed its line up for the end of June.
AdvertisementPart of the Summer Saturdays on the Flag Market the Armed Forces Day will feature live music and military parades.
Tanks will be parked up in the shadow of the Harris and a freedom parade takes place to the Flag Market during Saturday (30 June).
Armed Forces Champion for Preston City Council councillor Drew Gale said: ”I never cease to be amazed by the support the People of this Great City give to our Armed Forces and Veterans.
“Armed Forces Day gives Prestonian’s the platform to show just how highly we regard and appreciate those who have, and continue to, sacrifice so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.
“20,000 attend Prestons Armed Forces Day every year and this year will be no different – Preston certainly knows how to throw a party.”

Here’s the running order for the event:
11 – 12 Freedom Parade by Duke of Lancashire Regiment, including service and performance by Louisa Stirland
12 – 12.30 – Military Band
12.30 – 1.00 Kevin Simm Voice winner
1 – 1.30 – Jack and Tim (from Britain’s Got Talent)
1.30 – 2.00 Roxanne Flynn
2 -2.45 Swing Dancers
2.45 – 3.30 Madeline Brown
3.30 – 4.00 Ella Shaw
4.00 – 4.30 Owen Paul
And in the evening Preston City Wrestling take over the Guild Hall.

The show is free (booking fee only applies) and raises money for Help for Heroes, Wings Centre and more Preston-based military charities.
