Man charged with manslaughter after death of man following Clifton Hotel incident

A man has today been charged with the manslaughter of Jonathan Palgrave.

Mr Palgrave, 35, of Preston, died on Sunday, May 20 after being taken to hospital following an incident at the Clifton Hotel in Fishergate Hill.

Mr Palgrave, 35, of Preston was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where he later died.

Police classified his death as ‘unexplained’, and say Mr Palgrave was found outside the same hotel, two days before his death, with a head injury.

Mr Palgrave was named by police on May 23.

Paul Ellerker, 30, of The Clifton Hotel was originally arrested on suspicion of murder on May 23 and has today been charged with manslaughter.

 

He is due to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (June 19).
