Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted near a supermarket car park in Preston.
AdvertisementThe 26-year-old woman was walking to work when she was approached from behind by a man in Mercer Street, off New Hall Lane.
Police say the man grabbed the victim and sexually assaulted her before making off from the scene through the Lidl car park.
The incident took place around 9.20am on Thursday (19 April).
Preston Police say they are now looking for an Asian man, aged 17, and of very slim build.
He was wearing a light grey zip-up hoodie and tracksuit pants, as well as carrying a dark coloured backpack. He was also thought to have been wearing a brightly coloured lanyard, either red or orange.

PC Alex Haines said: “An investigation is underway after a woman was sexually assaulted in Preston.
“The victim was walking to work when a man approached her from behind and attacked her.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence and saw the offender described.
“If you can help, please get in touch with police.”
