Preston biker dies following M62 crash

A motorcyclist from Preston has died in a crash on Good Friday.

The 36-year-old man was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene after the incident on the M62.

West Yorshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision involving a blue Nissan Qashqai and a silver Aprilla motorcycle.

It took place close to the exit slip road at Junction 22 (Saddleworth) on the Lancashire-Yorkshire border around 11.25am on Friday (30 March).

The Qashqai driver has been spoken to by officers.

Police shut the M62 for several hours following the crash – leading to severe delays back towards Manchester.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dash-cam footage of the moments leading up to the collision are asked to contact West Yorkshire Police.
