Williams Handbaked Biscuits and Cakes, based at Preston Docks, had the vehicle taken in the early hours of Friday (16 February).

The wholesale bakery, in Chain Caul Way, itself was broken into and the van taken by the thieves.

Katie O’Malley, one of the family members who runs the firm, took to Facebook to find it.

Their post about the van being taken was shared thousands of times.

On Friday afternoon the van was recovered and had not been damaged.

Katie said: “We just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the people of Preston for sharing our post to help us get our van back.

“We deliver to a lot of local farm shops and garden centres so our van is very valuable to us and to locate it so quickly was a massive help to our business.”
