There was some reet Lancashire entertainment around Preston Markets during its first Saturday of trading.

Morris dancers, the Red Rose Band and a ukulele band struck up their tunes throughout the day.

Preston City Council put on the entertainment to mark the first weekend of trading following the new market’s opening on Monday.

More than 25 traders are spread throughout the glazed structure under the cover of the Outdoor Victorian Market canopy.

Saturday also saw some of the Box Market traders beginning to open.

The shipping containers have been turned into small retail and catering units.

Entertainment at the markets is due to continue for the next three Saturdays.
