A man has been charged in connection with an attack on a Preston man in a Darwen nightclub.

Ben Pennington suffered a serious head injury at Level One in Market Street in October 2016.

Police were called to the club at 3.10am and after reports a man was found unconscious.

Mr Pennington was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and underwent surgery to his skull.

He is still receiving treatment and his father has spoken out extensively about Ben’s recovery.

Tony Parsons, 29, of Fore Street, Darwen, has been charged with section 20 wounding and will appear before Blackburn magistrates court on Thursday 8 March.
