The Fishergate bollard is absent from the city’s main shopping street – but this hasn’t stopped another driver mounting its plinth.
AdvertisementA Ford Fiesta was seen badly damaged after the driver hit the raised kerb in the city’s shared space.
The bollard – which has made national headlines this week as part of its making the finalists list for the City Star Award – is currently missing in action.
During Saturday (17 February) a number of Prestonians took to social media to show the crash in the city.

Put in place as part of the £3.4million Fishergate shared space scheme the bollard has been regularly hit through the years.
A Freedom of Information request from Blog Preston last year revealed it costs Lancashire County Council around £350 each time the bollard needs replacing.
