Man charged after stabbing in Chipping

A 20-year-old woman remains in hospital after a stabbing near Preston.

The woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after being found with stab wounds at Kirkfield, Chipping, on Sunday (7 January).

Lancashire Police say they were called to the address at around 9pm.

A man was pursued by police and later arrested in connection with the incident at Rivington Services on the M61.

Matthew Greenwood, 27, of George Street, Bolton, has been charged with S18 – wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. He was remanded to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (9 January).
