Drugs found in car after police pursuit ends in Preston park

Two men remain in custody after a police chase in Preston on Friday afternoon.

A silver car, understood to be a Jaguar, ended up in the middle of Ribbleton Park with a number of Lancashire Police vehicles in pursuits.

Preston Police have now confirmed a large quantity of Class A drugs were recovered from the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses reported the car nearly striking a mother and her two children in Blackpool Road during the pursuit.

The car turned into the park, also known as Waverley Park, and became trapped in the mud during the incident at around 4pm on Friday (5 January).

Police surrounded the vehicle and arrested the driver and a passenger, and discovered the drugs.

The police vehicles also became trapped in the mud and had to be winched free.
