Police closed off a road in Fulwood after a crash on Thursday evening.

An 81-year-old man suffered chest injuries during the collision in Pittman Way, near Asda.

The incident, which took place around 9pm on Thursday (21 December), saw a female driver of a Mercedes had been reported to police for driving without due care and attention.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: “I confirm that we sent two ambulances to this incident but did not transport anyone to hospital.

“There was a female in her 20’s and a male in his 80’s involved, who would have been checked over at the scene.”

No arrests have been made at this stage.
